Phase II
Overview
Phase 2 – Expanding Photovoltaic System
10 additional panels each rated at 125 V and 2 panels from phase I
This is a grid tied system as well with battery storage (4 large lead-acid batteries; completely enclosed in sealed plastic containers).
This system runs the LED scoreboard in the large gym and any excess power feeds into the school.
Payback is 25 years.
Power produced is 1700 W or 1.7 kW. Thus, when we combine phases 1 and 2, the total electrical output from our systems can be 4.7 kW or 4700 W.
Total cost of Phase 2 was $30,000 and was raised in two years. Started Sept 2005 and was not finished until Jan 2007.
